Batato Batani Vagu - Temple Style Mangalore potato peas curry - Jain Recipe
We all love eating in temples right? Especially we Mangaloreans just love that temple food, that mouth watering rasam, Amchi Kuldev Dalitoy, Chane Ghashi, and some Godshe like Khichdi. But sometimes there are other variety of curries which are super tassssty and I call it tasssty because It gives extra taste without using Onion and garlic. One such recipe is our favourite Batato Batani Vagu. There are variety of recipes for this too.. some make it only with potatoes, some potato and peas, some add cauliflower to it but my ultimate favourite is combination of batani and batato ( peas and potato). So now lets check out the recipe. Ingredients Potato- 3 medium sized Peas- 1 small cup Tomato- 1 small Grated coconut- 1 tbsp Coriander seeds - 1tsp Red chilli - around 5 Tamarind - small piece Coconut oil- 3tsp Mustard seeds -1 tsp Curry leaves - 10 Hing - 1/2tsp Salt to taste Water as required Method 1.
